Plants I have

Plants and Lady 001 I suffer from hay-fever which can effect me badly, but I love my summer weather still, and I like plants. But as a rule I don’t buy plants, and I make sure if I’m going to receive flowers that I don’t get too much in one go.

But this cactus is the first plant I’ve owned, which I’ve had since summer 1991, a present from my Mum. Where I’ve lived in the past its either been in my bedroom or study room, but where I currently live its now in the bathroom, and seems to be the best place for it, as I’ve noticed its perked up a bit. Its not going to do much more than how it looks now. I’m keeping it in this pot and no bigger, as I don’t want it getting very tall, as I notice its still growing.

When I first had this plant, it was in a very small plant pot, and was only about 8cm tall (excluding pot). Now its 28cm tall (excluding pot).

Plants and Lady 003 Since where I now currently live, and because of the atmosphere I want to create, I’m going to try the odd plant here and there slowly, without going over the top, and see how I go. If I stay with leafy things or cacti, I’ll imagine it shouldn’t effect me greatly.

The other plant I’ve recently bought is a Venus Fly Trap. This I have on my kitchen windowsill and find fascinating and fun. May buy another of these later.

Another plant I own also is a Dracaena marginata, which I’m nursing back to health, and showing signs of growth, so I know I’m doing something right. And I have a Spider Plant, a cutting from my friend’s plant. Both of these I have in my living room.

North Norfolk Day Trip

Had to be at the bus station for Butler Brothers  coach to pick me up at 8.15am.  After everyone was picked up along the way, we were all on our way. Somewhere half way we stopped off for half an hour break, before heading to Sheringham, which we got there at 12.30pm. and stopped till 2.30pm.. Where the coach dropped us off, the train station was right next door.

I’ve never been here before or Cromer where I went next, but you could not get lost around here, in Sheringham wasn’t too big, and it was a lovely place to visit.

In between all the walking about, I went first down to the beach. There were lovely murals along there.Here’s one of them I took a picture of showing seals at play. This was done by a bloke called Colin Seal, and this is the following website I also made note of while looking at this mural. http://www.seaside-art.com

I then went into some shops to buy gifts for my Mum, Richard and Kath, and bought a few essentials for myself that I needed. Did not spend as much as I thought I would while here! Tried lobster for the first time too. Lovely! For a cool down and to rest my legs, I popped into Rallentando for a strawberry milkshake.

Before getting back on coach, I went back to the train station to take a picture of the train that was in.

From Sheringham the coach then took us to Cromer, which we stayed there till 5pm. I hung about with my friend while in this area. The area was much bigger, so obviously more to see, and surprisingly we did not get lost! I treated myself to a bracelet while here and had an ice-cream to cool me down, as the weather was still lovely and hot. The area was nice but too big to see everything, but I felt I seen most of what I wanted to see.

Anne got me in the sea for a paddle. Have not done that for along time, and it was great to feel the sand beneath my feet. On the way back to the coach we had some chips between us.

What I noticed about while in Sheringham and Cromer, there were lots of butterflies. Something I don’t see like this back home.

And on the way going and coming back from my trip, it was lovely to see just fields, a bit of woodland and farmland.To say that we are supposed to be losing or at risk of losing lovely views like this to housing development in places around the country, I was very surprised in the views I was seeing. It was more than I expected, and it was lovely. We definitely need to keep lovely views like this to see.

Will the internet crash one day?

As you know I had recent problems with Windows Live email, which could have cost me me friendship. Windows Live alone I know people have always criticised them for not being good etc.. but when I discovered this, I was already with them after moving from Gmail.

I’ve now set myself up with a Yahoo account, and sent an email or two without any problems, but because of layout with other stuff you can get, it will take a bit of getting used to. But should not take too long. When I sent an email from my Yahoo account, I used my mobile phone for this on the browser. Sending an email on that was simple, because there’s nothing else to see other than what you need for email. I plan to close down my old email addresses, once I let other people know my new one, and just use one from now on for everything. But one tip I can give I’m going to start doing as a back up. Make copies of your contacts on paper, and don’t just rely on the email providers storage space for it.

Going back to will the Internet crash one day subject. I don’t know what to think, but my boyfriend thinks that one day it will completely crash, and the troubles I’ve experienced recently or in the past is just the start of it. He reckons because of the huge demand for the Internet, it will crash one day completely, because it won’t be able to cope with the demand. What do you think? Its worrying if it was to happen. As I rely on this, and there are businesses that do too.

Doing a home study course

With thanks to someone I regard and I hope is still a friend, I have decided to go on a home study in Writing For Children, after this person gave me a good personal comment by email. I really appreciate this message I received, and it cheered me up, as I never thought of doing what this person recommended this way. Although I did once think about writing for children, I never did it, even though I came up with my first story in my teens that I was really proud of, after a teacher digged deep, to get my thoughts and ideas out on paper.

At the end of the day its all about confidence in myself to do it, and I still have this issue in which part of me thinks I won’t be good at it, althought this person thinks I am. So I chose to do this home study course, as so I get more background in this area, and hopefully confidence.

Thank you to this friend once again. You know who you are. :)

Any computer techies out there?

Any computer techies out there that might be able to help? As you know from previous post I’ve had problems regarding sending emails. But its only to one address I’m finding it. I receive a failed notification that says this persons email does not have a ……..account. But I know this account still exists. I have one idea why this is happening, and if its the case I’m rather saddened, as it was nice to chat with this person who I regarded a friend.

Anyone on 3 Pay As You Go and…..

Anyone in the UK on 3 Pay As You Go and uses their phone as a modem, to sometimes send emails using Windows Live? Do you have the same problem as me?

I have a Nokia E63 on 3, and yesterday I bought an Internet Add on just for the day so I could try it out, so I could access and send emails from my Windows Live. I managed to see my emails ok, so I knew buying an Internet Add On was what I needed to do. So thought I’d send an email to a friend who’s on Yahoo. I wrote out my email and clicked send, and it went. So happy. But boy, wasn’t I wrong. About half an hour from sending I received an email to say this failed to deliver. Diagnostic code:smtp: 554 delivery error: dd This user doesn’t have a yahoo.com account.

Now I know this person does and I bet if I tried on a different PC using a different ISP, it wouldget delivered successfully, like once before. So as far as I’m concerned my add on was waste of money.

I was going to try again today this morning, by buying another add on just for today, but could not access My 3 as temporarily unavailable. I think it says it all.

But don’t get me wrong, I do like 3 and customer service is great, just like T-Mobile who I used to be with. But the internet is hit and miss.

Please leave your comments here, if you are having this problem, also if anyone who understands technology better than I do, who may be able to explain why I get this error, when I know this email still exists. Who I hope does not think I’m ignoring her. I have sent an offline IM. I hope she got this ok.

Cats act as ears for deaf woman

Click on the following link to read story how her cats alert her to things. I think this is rather clever. My cat Lady who I not long lost, started to alert me to a few things around the home, when I first got my flat. But not as much as these cats do for this lady.

My cat had not been trained, and she was a stray before I had her. She showned no signs of acknowledging my deafness, until we moved into my first flat. Prior to that I lived with my Mum when I first had her. When I started observing her body language, she used to let me know when the post came through my door, and listen when the downstairs neighbour came in or out of his flat.

Hope the weather is nice Saturday

I’m hoping the weather will be nice this Saturday, but I hear from my boyfriend Richard, that apparently they’ve gave out rain. But hopefully like sometimes it does, the weather will do an opposite. Me and Richard are going out on our first day trip together, to Skegness.

I plan to walk on the beach bare foot, and maybe a paddle in the sea, if the weather turns out good.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Update: Weather turned out to be lovely when we were at Skegness. There was the odd shower but nothing to complain about, and not enough to get soaked. It was mainly dry.
It started to get really hot where we had to take our coats off towards the end of the day. It good day out that we both enjoyed.
My Favourite Pictures Of All
These are my cherished photos of Lady I have framed, both I have had for some years. I’ve taken these pictures while they were still in their frame with my camera phone to share with you, which is why they are not clear as they normally would be. I found difficulty trying to take them with my camera phone, as I had to avoid using my flash on my camera, as well as trying not to get too much glare from natural light, and reflections. I hope you like them anyway.
Plants and Lady 004
Plants and Lady 005
As you can see in above picture of her asleep, you will now see why I fell in love with the statue I bought recently for her resting place. It looks soooo much like her.
This other photo I think is also a good shot of her I’d like to share with you also.
from phone 002
She looks like lady of leisure here!
Her name ‘Lady’ I chosen for her that she responded to when I first had her all those years ago, certainly suited her!
As well as liking a picture of her I use for my avatar when blogging, I also like this one too.
housewarming blog post 002I think she looked cute here. This was the last picture I had taken of her only just a few months before I lost her.
Lady could be very hard when it came to taking pictures of her, but after persevering, I always got my shot I liked.
Hope you liked these pictures I share with you :)
